I want to thank you for visiting, and welcome you to this community. I welcome you to participate at any level that is comfortable to you…ask questions, share your thoughts, or just soak in the information.
If you are reading this, then you are at least a bit curious about God. About Jesus. About the Holy Spirit. About what life might be like if you had a relationship with Jesus. If this is true I want to encourage you, urge you, in fact challenge you to act on that tug of war in your thoughts and heart.
There is an important verse in the Bible where God says this:
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” -Jeremiah 29:13
My challenge for you is this: To seek the lord with all your heart. If you do this, God promises that you will find Him. And God always keeps His promises.
Now, let’s for a moment say that God is not real, and that I, in my challenge to you am intending to trick and make a fool out of you. What at the very least will you gain from truly seeking to answer the question of God for yourself? An inspiring or poetic verse or two? In fact, if you truly commit to following the instructions in Jeremiah 29:13 and don’t find God, then you will have gained enough knowledge for a perfect argument to refute any evangelist that tries to tell you otherwise. And instead of not knowing, you will know. And you will never have to wonder again.
I can tell you truthfully that at some point I have probably asked the same questions and had the same doubts about Jesus, the Bible, church, Christianity, etc. that you may have now. I am almost 4 years into my relationship with Jesus and I still have questions.. i’d be lying if I said I have never had doubts about certain things as a Christian. I have been an active member of a church which I absolutely love for 3 and a half years, yet there are still certain stereotypes I believe from my past experience of Christians and churches that have yet to be fully broken. I am a Christian, but I am still me. The difference is, now I have felt the living God in my heart and soul, and I can never forget His glory, nor can I go back to life without Him. I had joy before I met Jesus, but now joy is deeper, sweeter. I felt pain before I met Jesus, but now in my pain I have purpose, victory. Being a Christian does not require you to be perfect, or even strive to be perfect. It requires you to love Jesus.. to have a relationship with Him. The rest will come.
SO, here comes the real challenging question: How desperately do you want to know the truth?
Is it with all your heart? Because that is what it will take to let the walls of pride fall, in order to make space for the God who loves us more than we often give him space to. He won’t force you. He gives you a choice. But dear curious heart, with everything in me, I wish to encourage you in your search; Let those walls fall down in your pursuit of truth.
My first suggestion to you is that you take the time to figure out what “all your heart” means to you. Define it. Because I guarantee you, in your search to find God, all your heart will be tested.
In this endeavor I pray you will have strength, courage, endurance, and humility.
With all my heart,
Amber
